Sylvan Learning Center announces December’s Teacher of the Month

Known for greeting every student with a smile, Sylvan Learning Center has named Debbie Mullen as the Teacher of the Month.

Mullen, who teaches third grade at Blaney Elementary School, started with Sylvan of Columbia in June of 2015. With a Master’s in Elementary Education from Clemson University, Mullen works primarily with students in elementary school and middle school teaching reading, math, study skills, writing and homework support.

“Debbie was honored because of her dedication to Sylvan and her students,” said Sharon Smith, the Director of Education at Sylvan’s Columbia location. “She encourages focus, hard work, and constant improvement in her students every day.”

When she isn’t teaching or tutoring, Mullen enjoys cheering on her favorite football team, the Clemson Tigers.
