Sylvan Learning Center offering math games and pizza for National Pi Day

March 3, 2020

Sylvan Learning Centers across the Upstate are bringing you the true meaning of National Pi Day this year.

Centers in Anderson, Greenville and Spartanburg will be offering free math games as well as pizza on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The Greenville and Anderson Pi celebrations will be from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. and the Spartanburg event will go from 2 p.m. through 4 p.m. People interested in registering their children can click here.

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π. Pi Day is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of π. In 2009, the United States House of Representatives supported the designation of Pi Day.

For 40 years, Sylvan has campaigned its mission that every student deserves any resource possible for academic success.

“Our Upstate centers work with a wide range of students,” said Amy Gardner, franchise owner of Sylvan Learning Center. “We wanted to do something a little different that combines math and fun.”
