SYNNEX Share the Magic distributes $1.4 million to charity from 2020 virtual event

December 3, 2020

SYNNEX Share the Magic, the charitable fundraising initiative for SYNNEX Corporation, announced that $1.4 million is being distributed to four Upstate children’s charities from the 2020 virtual event. This marks the largest disbursement made since the event was founded 10 years ago and brings the total amount raised since 2011 to more than $14 million. Beneficiaries of SYNNEX Share the Magic include: A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Make-A-Wish South Carolina and Pendleton Place.

SYNNEX also announced a special partnership with Hartness, a new 444-acre urban village founded by the Hartness family and located on Greenville’s Eastside on the family’s estate, as the site of the 2021 SYNNEX Share the Magic gala event. With Hartness’ lush, vast land and sparkling lakes, next year’s SYNNEX Share the Magic event, taking place on October 9th, is poised to be the most unique and memorable one yet.

“Ten years of SYNNEX Share the Magic and over $14 million raised to help kids in our community is something we are very proud of, and we would like to thank our vendor partners and local donors for helping make our first virtual event a success,” said Peter Larocque, President of North American Technology Solutions for SYNNEX Corporation and founder of SYNNEX Share the Magic. “There is always more to be done and more families to serve, and we look forward to reimagining and growing our annual gala by holding it at the Hartness Estate in 2021.”

The history of the Hartness Estate includes graciously playing host to some of Greenville’s most talked about and charitable events, and Hartness is pleased to continue this tradition as the event site for the 2021 SYNNEX Share the Magic gala. Previous charitable and community events held on the Hartness Estate include The Beach Ball and the BI-LO Charity Classic pairings party and auction.

“Giving back to the community has always been very important to our family, and we really enjoyed opening up this property to host some of Greenville’s best events in the past,” said Sean Hartness. “We are ecstatic to be able to do that once again with SYNNEX Share the Magic. SYNNEX is not only our neighbor, but a great example of what a corporation with a heart can do for a community, and we are very excited to be able to support their efforts to continue to raise millions for children’s charities in the Upstate.”
