The Tacos ‘n Tequila Fiesta, presented by Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila and held at The Old Cigar Warehouse, took place over the weekend of September 25. Although the festival was held differently than it had been in the past, this time with more COVID restrictions (such as masks and social distancing), some aspects of the festival remained the same including its award competition.
This annual part of the event challenges chefs and mixologists to see who can come up with the best and most creative tacos, sides, and tequila-inspired drinks. The winners were:
- Best Overall Taco: The Lazy Goat,”Souse Vide Pork Cheek Taco”
- Best Overall Cocktail: White Duck Taco Shop, “Midnight Margarita”
- Best Sidekick: Chuy’s, “Tres Leches”
- People’s Choice – Best Taco: White Duck Taco Shop, “Tonkatsu Taco”
- People’s Choice – Best Cocktail: Chuy’s, “Autumn Margarita”
- Most Creative Taco: Papi’s Tacos, “Blue Majik Lobster Street Taco”
