Tacos & Tequila Fiesta expands list of activities and sponsors

March 29, 2019

As if wowing your taste buds wasn’t enough, the third annual Tacos & Tequila Fiesta, presented by Lunazul 100% Agave Tequila, will be entertaining attendees with professional wrestling matches, taco painting from Open Art Studios, games and more.

Since the announcement of the fiesta’s return to downtown Greenville, the highly anticipated event has been growing their list of bartenders, restaurants and sponsors steadily. The following bartenders have been added to the competition:

Ashley Allison ~ Rey’s
Carson League ~ Vault & Vator
Ashlee Cleveland ~ Tacozzini
Brooke Davis ~ Luna Rosa
Matthew Milcznski ~ Bacon Bros Public House
Jeremy Krauze ~ On the Roxx
Brian Sizemore ~ The Farehouse
Connie Dimick ~ White Duck Taco
Madelaine Hoptry ~ El Thrifty
Zach Strength ~ Crafted at Nosedive
Clay Hall ~ Chicora Alley Fire House

As far as newly joined restaurants, you can plan to see White Duck Taco Shop, Woodside Bistro, The Farehouse, Chicora Alley and El Thrifty amongst the other 13 restaurants competing in the taco challenge. New competitors brought new judges for the competition: Keaton Wylie from GVL Today, Sam Slaughter food and drink editor of the Manuel, Luigi Bravo the owner of Latin Groove, and Morgan Allen the executive director of Euphoria.

Wrestlers from the Lucha Libre Wrestleforce, based out of Columbia South Carolina, will compete for 1.5 hours in the 16x16ft ring located in the grass lot beside the Old Cigar Warehouse. With more than 1,000 people in attendance at last year’s fiesta, these performers are guaranteed to have a lively audience energized by tacos and spirited by tequila.

Harris Teeter has signed on to be the official sponsor of the highly popular salsa bar. 9round Kickboxing fitness gym will be sponsoring a game while Sierra Nevada sponsors the beer.
