Talented Tenth, a Columbia-based young professionals’ organization founded by City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, presents the Annual Talented Tenth Conference, The 2020 SC Convening: Access. Service. Elevation. The conference, which kicks off on Thursday, February 6, 2020 and runs through Friday, February 7, 2019, will take place at various locations throughout downtown Columbia’s Main Street District.

Designed to help guide and engage our region’s future leaders, the Talented Tenth Conference provides attendees with the tools needed to successfully contribute to their profession and community. By way of meaningful and purposeful networking opportunities, guests will come face-to-face with thought leaders, senior executives, elected officials, and community leaders who have joined forces to share in their knowledge regarding professional development, education and economic development.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to strategize and connect Columbia’s leading professionals with members of the community in an informal setting,” states Kara Simmons, Talented Tenth SC board chair.

Speakers for the Talented Tenth Conference, The 2020 Convening, include City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, Jaime Harrison, (Keynote Speaker – Associate Chair of the National Democratic Conference + U.S. Senate Candidate); Senator Mia McLeod, Ivory Matthews (Columbia Housing Authority Interim Executive Director); Chynna Phillips (Research + Policy Director for Sisters of Charity SC); and Judi Gatson (Moderator – WISTV News Anchor).
