Tasting Notes Raises Glasses to Raise S.C. Phil Support

COLUMBIA, SC – The high-end wines and gourmet food selections of Tasting Notes will raise money for the South Carolina Philharmonic again at the S.C. State Museum,Monday, March 2, 2015 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

In a spacious layout in the newly-renovated section of the museum, wine and food lovers can expect to taste more than 50 high-end wines from around the world and indulge in tempting fare from 15 of the Midlands’ finest restaurants. Guests may purchase the wine they’ve tasted that evening and also bid on specialty wines in the silent auction.

Restaurants providing food selections include 116 Espresso & Wine Bar, Ally & Eloise Bake Shop,Bourbon Columbia, Blue Marlin Steaks & Seafood, Gervais & Vine, The Melting Pot, Miyo’s, M. Grille, M. Vista, Michael’s Café & Catering, Ms. B’s Southern Kitchen, Motor Supply Co. Bistro, The Oak Table, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Ristorante Divino,Thirsty Fellow Pizzeria & Pub and Travinia Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar. Beer lovers can enjoy additional beverage options fromRiver Rat Brewery, and First Citizens Café will offer post-“meal” coffee.

The sounds of the Reggie Sullivan Quartet and Dreher High Steel Band will lend to the lively atmosphere. Outside, The Cigar Box will sell cigars in a special lounge area. The Tasting Notessilent auction features the carefully curated specialty wines, vacation packages, artwork, and more. Southern Valet will provide complimentary valet parking and, for guests who need the service, Checker Yellow Cab will be on site to provide safe rides home.

Tasting Notes set high marks for income supporting the orchestra and attendance in 2014, doubling its financial impact on the S.C. Phil’s Masterworks Series and educational programs in its second year. Tasting Notes is a business casual event, and wine and food selections are included in the $75 per person admission.
