TD Bank selects local nonprofit MIRCI as the recipient of TD Bank Touchdowns Program

September 21, 2020

This football season, TD Bank will partner with the University of South Carolina Gamecocks to help support, local nonprofit, MIRCI – Mental Illness Recovery Center Inc.

The TD Bank Touchdowns program is a philanthropic venture that supports nonprofits in a fun and engaging way for Carolina fans! Every time the Gamecocks score a touchdown, TD Bank will make a donation to MIRCI, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, full service behavioral healthcare organization that assists the community’s most vulnerable population, individuals and families that are homeless and recovering from mental illness.
“We are thrilled to have been chosen by TD Bank for this exciting opportunity. It means a great deal to be supported by such an influential community pillar, TD Bank, at one of the state’s flagship universities.” Said executive director, Julie Ann Avin.

MIRCI is celebrating its 60th year serving the midlands. During the pandemic, MIRCI has increased operations to ensure our community’s most vulnerable population, individuals who are homeless and recovering from mental illness, continue to receive care.

“At TD Bank, we believe it’s our responsibility to lend a helping hand in the communities we serve,” said Zealy Jenkins, Retail Market Manager for TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank. “We are proud to have MIRCI as our TD Bank Touchdowns beneficiary, and we are pleased to help them continue with the critical work they are doing to help fight mental illness and homelessness.”

That Gamecock’s first game of the season will be home at Williams-Brice, against Tennessee on September 26 at 7:30pm.
