GREENVILLE, SC – July 15, 2011 – Yesterday, TD Bank celebrated its move into the Carolinas by surprising and delighting consumers with a free Subway meal on America’s Most Convenient Bank!

TD Bank took over 135 Subway restaurants located near many of TD’s newly rebranded stores (formerly Carolina First branch locations) in the Asheville, North Carolina metro area, and Greenville, Spartanburg and Anderson metro areas in South Carolina. The first 100 customers at each location received a FREE meal of their choice, courtesy of the bank.

The free meal events introduced Carolinians to the convenience and legendary customer service TD Bank offers across its Maine to Florida footprint, including longer hours.  With expanded conveniences and financial choices, local decision making and community involvement, TD Bank is committed to delivering a memorable banking experience.

The events also enable TD Bank to support locally-owned businesses that are economic engines in their respective communities. Whether it’s hiring locally to staff TD Bank stores, to planning events that boost small businesses, to making contributions through TD Bank’s charitable giving arm, the TD Charitable Foundation, TD Bank believes that supporting the communities where its customers and employees live and work is a necessary element of Building the Better Bank.

“These sandwich events are just one example of the many initiatives TD Bank employs to support the communities where our customers and employees live and work,” said David Lominack, TD Bank Market President, Upstate and Midlands, South Carolina. “We’re focused on Building The Better Bank for our customers and employees by truly being America’s Most Convenient Bank, and by being active community partners in the areas we serve.”
