TD Charitable Foundation supports the Urban League of the Upstate with donation

The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated a total of $10,000 to the Urban League of the Upstate as part of the foundation’s commitment to giving back to the community.
The Urban League of the Upstate is a local 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization who has assisted and served low-wealth individuals to obtain self-sufficiency through career and job assistance, training, education, and business development since 1972. The Urban League believes that education provides the strongest and most effective foundation for community-based efforts to address the root causes of poverty in Greenville County and our Upstate region are excited to receive the grant from the TD Charitable Foundation. The funds will be used to support the Project Ready/Pre-College Enrollment Program. Designed to help under-resourced young students in grades 9-12 in Greenville County high schools, Project Ready helps these students overcome obstacles, complete high school, and pursue a post-secondary degree. The goal is to prepare these youth for higher education, better paying jobs and quality of life. Accordingly, this goal is accomplished through academic tutoring, special educational enrichment opportunities, pre-college enrollment services, field trips and cultural enrichment, and mentoring from local college students and other trained volunteers.
Project Ready empowers participating students to make positive associations between the worlds of school, work, and community. Mentors, project educators, and volunteers are dedicated to providing guidance to these students (and their families) with the ultimate goal for them to develop academic and personal skills that can be used to make better decisions to impact their lives and communities.
