Teddy Bear Picnic Brings Family-Friendly Adventure to Conestee Nature Preserve

June 29, 2026

Young adventurers and their favorite plush companions are invited to explore the outdoors next month for a unique seasonal event.

Conestee Nature Preserve is officially hosting a Teddy Bear Picnic, offering local families a morning of outdoor exploration and community fun. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 11th, running from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

A “Bear Hunt” Through the Habitats

Tailored specifically for little explorers ages 3 to 7 and their grownups, the event kicks off with an interactive “bear hunt” through the Preserve’s protected natural habitats. Following the trail excursion, families will gather to enjoy a group picnic together in Henderson Meadow.

Attendees are instructed to pack their own picnic lunches and bring along a favorite teddy bear or stuffed friend to join in on the activities.

Registration and Location Details

For families who may need a picnic companion, plush wildlife options are available for purchase beforehand at the Preserve’s main entrance Gift Shop. A temporary pop-up Gift Shop will also be operating at the Nature Playscape during the event.

Participants will gather at the 601 Fork Shoals Road entrance to begin the adventure. Because space for the educational program is limited and spots are expected to fill quickly, advanced registration is required through the preserve’s online ticketing channels.
