Teresa W. Knight Appointed Chairman of South Carolina Bankers Association

GREENVILLE, SC – August 31, 2010 – Teresa W. Knight, Executive Vice President of Bank Administration, Human Resources and Marketing, The Palmetto Bank, has been installed as the 110th Chairman of the South Carolina Bankers Association for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.

Knight, who has almost thirty years in banking, was elected Executive Vice President of Bank Administration, Human Resources and Marketing in September 1999. Prior to that, Knight served on the retail side from 1981 until January 1986 when she was elected to the personnel officer position. Within the South Carolina Bankers Association, Knight also serves on the South Carolina Bankers Employee Benefit Trust and is the former chairman for both the Trust and the prestigious South Carolina Bankers School.

Knight earned her B.A. degree from Clemson University, cum laude.  She is a 1995 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University (LSU) and a 1986 graduate of the South Carolina Bankers School.  Knight also attended The University of Virginia Darden Leadership School.

Knight also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Upcountry History Museum and is a member of the Membership Committee for the Poinsett Club.  She is a past trustee for the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University (LSU) and a governor of the Poinsett Club.  Lastly, Knight also served as secretary for three years for the Laurens Rotary Club.
