Terra Weclomes Michael Fomby as General Manager

COLUMBIA, SC – May 21, 2013 – Terra, which specializes in Chef Mike Davis’s seasonal preparation of Southern dishes using local products whenever possible at 100 State Street in West Columbia, announces that Michael Fomby has joined the restaurant’s staff as general manager.
“We’re excited to welcome Michael to the restaurant,” said Chef Mike Davis, owner of Terra. “Our customers, who have high expectations, will appreciate his attention to detail and he’s very personable.”
Fomby is no stranger to the Columbia restaurant scene. He worked at Mr. Friendly’s for 12 years, four of which he served as general manager, and most recently worked at Whole Foods Market as specialty team leader. Fomby will be responsible for managing the front-of-house staff during service, handling reservations for diners and the restaurant’s private dining room as well as managing Terra’s beverage inventory and more.
“I’m happy to be working with the staff at Terra,” said Fomby. “The vision for the restaurant of showcasing local products, it’s how I also view food and I appreciate the simple, elegant presentation.”
