The Arnold Companies celebrate with opening ceremony at The Palms

March 21, 2022

Joined by Matt Kennell of the City Center Partnership, Councilman Howard Duvall of The City of Columbia, Brian Samson with Ameris Bank, Alan and Charles Kahn of M.B. Kahn Construction, Shelly Little, COO of The Arnold Companies, and a full house of Midlands business & political leaders, Arnold Companies CEO Ben Arnold cut the ribbon for The Palms at 1101 Lady Street – downtown Columbia’s fresh, new icon of economic prosperity.

A modern new rental residence with a chic, top floor club lounge with covered balcony and fire pit at the corner of Lady and Assembly streets in the heart of Columbia, SC, The Palms is one of the latest projects from real estate developer Ben Arnold. Each home has contemporary finishes, modern designer flooring and lighting, quartz countertops and energy efficient appliances. With the exquisite night views lighting up the Columbia skyline, this new kid on the block is already bringing a new energy to downtown Columbia.

The Arnold Companies welcomed over 100 of the Midlands’ most stylish attendees at a private, top floor soiree where murmurings of “there’s nothing else like this in Columbia” could be overheard amid the jazz and funk stylings of The Reggie Sullivan Band. Lady Street was blocked off from Main Street to Assembly Street to accommodate the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was held in a giant tent in front of The Palms, located at 1101 Lady Street.

All of our guests enjoyed floating, bird of paradise floral arrangements, a full bar, and hors d’oeuvres (served on sustainable bamboo plate ware) by Rose Naccash of Gourmet Rose. The luxurious modern design of the common area spaces and model apartment by Interior designer Tom Holley of Crazy Jane’s in Charlotte, NC was the talk of all guests in attendance.

The former location of Moe Levy’s and Howard Sports is now home to 83 new residences.  The Palms offers a variety of floor plans with studio, one and two bedrooms, ranging in size from 458 to 1,158 square feet, with 10’ ceilings on the top floor. The building boasts wide corridors and elevator access to all floors with designer décor in all common areas.  Pre-leasing is underway, and residential occupancy has commenced. Contact Caylyn Bird or Sarah Manning for more information on leasing at [email protected].

The Palms is Columbia’s newest sought-after address, offering the ultimate in urban living with convenient access to the central business district, the University of South Carolina, the Vista and the Statehouse.  Close to the varied entertainment and sporting pleasures of the Vista, opportunities for residency are expected to go quickly. The Palms is unique in Columbia, an elegant reprisal of Art Deco sophistication with all of the modern updates that make life significantly more enjoyable:
