The Assaults announce new student pricing for 2023 ride

The Freewheelers Cycling Association of Spartanburg has announced that the 2023 Assaults, which will take place on Monday, May 22, 2023, will for the first time include a reduced student rate for the 74.2-mile Marion course.

For the 2023 Assaults, students of any accredited university or college may register at a reduced rate of $50. Additionally, the first 10 students who follow The Assualts on Instagram and share the recent announcement post to their Stories will receive a free registration for the Marion ride.

The Assault on Mt. Mitchell earned the reputation as “Beast of the East” and is a 102.7-mile ride with a total vertical ascent of 10,000 feet. A shorter course with an elevation gain of 5,000 feet, The Assault on Marion takes place the same day, and follows Mitchell’s course route for the first 74.2 miles, ending at the Tom Johnson Campground in Marion, N.C.
Registration for both rides can be found at theassaults.com. Registration closes Friday, May 19, 2023 at 5 p.m. EST.
