The Beach Company continues growth with six strategic hires
September 17, 2026The Beach Company, a leader in residential and commercial real estate brokerage, development, and property management, continues to broaden teams through the addition of key new hires. The firm’s most recent hires strengthen investment management, leasing, community development, and accounting departments.
Coleman Cann joins The Beach Company as Investment Manager, Community Development, where he leads underwriting for new opportunities at Kiawah River and beyond. In their role, Cann supports capital structuring and oversees financial management across operational entities at Kiawah River. A native of Richmond, Va., Cann holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administration from The University of Alabama and brings prior experience from East West Partners, Lincoln Financial Group and Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital.
Hunter Helms joins The Beach Company as Associate, Investment Management, where she supports the oversight and performance of a portfolio of third-party managed multifamily assets across North and South Carolina. In her role, Helms analyzes property and portfolio performance, reviews budgets and operating reports, conducts financial and market analyses, coordinates with third-party property management, and prepares investment recommendations and reporting for senior leadership. Originally from Cherryville, N.C., Helms holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the College of Charleston and a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel. She brings prior experience from Pegasus Residential and Willow Bridge Property Company.
Katie Verner joins The Beach Company as Leasing Consultant at The Jasper, where she gives tours and acts as a resident liaison, helping those settling into their new homes. In her role, she focuses on building connections and creating positive experiences for prospective residents. A native of Nevada, Verner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and brings prior experience as a sales associate at UASHMAMA.
Lydia Sarbin joins The Beach Company as Associate, Investment Management, where she supports the financial performance and business plan execution of a portfolio of multifamily assets throughout the Southeast. Originally from Smith Mountain Lake, Va., Sarbin holds a bachelor’s degree in real estate from Virginia Tech and brings prior experience from Woodlock Capital and Walker Commercial Services.
Shayne Millette joins The Beach Company as Assistant Controller, where he oversees end-to-end accounting, financial reporting and audits for the company’s real estate portfolio, spanning development, multifamily and commercial operations. Beyond managing day-to-day accounting, Shayne leads cross-functional financial initiatives and drives continuous process improvements to optimize accounting workflows and support company growth. Originally from South Burlington, Vt., Shayne is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Political Science from Bryant University. He brings prior experience from Building Materials Distributors Inc., Aon and Willis Towers Watson.
Kelsey Scott joins The Beach Company as AP & Treasury Ops Analyst, where she oversees the accounts payable function, including entering and distributing payables, initiating and completing payments, and conducting bank reconciliations. In her role, Scott also serves as a primary point of contact for accounts payable inquiries, payment statuses and related needs. A Charleston native, Scott brings prior experience from Greystar Real Estate Partners and Blue Collars LLC.
