The Beach Company, a leader in residential and commercial real estate brokerage, development and property management for 75 years, announced JC Darby has been hired as a development associate at the company’s Charleston, S.C. headquarters.

Prior to joining the Beach Company, Darby spent more than five years working with Southeast Venture LLC, a Nashville-based real estate services company, where he gained valuable industry experience. During his time with Southeast Venture, Darby assisted The Beach Company with several investments, including Sixth South and Bells Bluff in Nashville and River Rock in Chattanooga.

In his new role, Darby will be involved with the acquisition and development of new ventures in the Southeast. He recently played a key role in The Beach Company’s acquisition of 13 acres near downtown Huntsville, Alabama planned for a mixed-use community.

A Charleston, S.C. native, Darby earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 2012 and his Master of Business Administration in real estate development from The Citadel in 2014. Darby is the great grandson and namesake of The Beach Company’s founder, JC Long, and son of the company’s current president and CEO, John Darby.

“We are excited to have JC join our development team. His extensive Southeast regional experience, paired with his in-depth understanding of the Charleston real estate market, will undoubtedly contribute to The Beach Company’s long-term growth as we explore and invest in new markets throughout the U.S.,” said Dan Doyle, senior vice president and COO at The Beach Company.
