The Beach Company Unveils Master Plan for Cantey Bay Plantation

June 19, 2008

CLARENDON COUNTY, SC  – June 18, 2008 – The Beach Company along with Charleston-based landscape architectural firm DesignWorks unveiled the Master Plan for Cantey Bay Plantation, Lake Marion’s Premier Waterfront Community.  The Open House held at the Summerton Cultural Arts Center was well attended by approximately 400 people.

Cantey Bay Plantation is positioned on approximately 4,000 acres of waterfront property on Lake Marion, in Summerton, South Carolina.  Easily accessed by Interstate I-95, it is just a short drive to Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Summerville and Orangeburg.

The community will offer a variety of housing types, sizes and price ranges built by local, regional and national custom home builders.   Home designs will display casual elegance with southern style and comfort.

Set adjacent to the Santee National Wildlife Refuge, Cantey Bay Plantation is dedicated to conserve, protect and enhance the land, water and local wildlife habitat.

An unhurried lifestyle, scenic views, waterside dining, walking trails, golf and more are all part of Cantey Bay Plantation.  Connected by sidewalk and waterfront trails, Cantey Bay Village will have a charming atmosphere with casual dining, unique shopping, convenient offices and beautiful single family homes and townhomes.

With hundreds of acres preserved as parkland and natural areas, there will be plenty of serene parks, trails, boardwalks, picnic areas, dog parks and wildlife observations areas to enjoy.  For more active recreation, there will be ballparks, playfields, basketball and tennis courts.

On the waterfront, Jack’s Creek Marina will include a new boat landing and ramp, fuel pump, wet slip docks, waterside dining, rental cottages, tackle shop, general store and a residents’ club and pool.
