The Buccaneer Restaurant to lose on September 30, 2010

September 29, 2010

CHARLESTON, SC September 30, 2010 – The Buccaneer, downtown Charleston’s pirate-themed family restaurant, will be closing on September 30, 2010.  Operated by the Neighborhood Dining Group, the restaurant will be closing its doors to focus on a new concept for the space.

“We opened a large capacity family-style themed restaurant in a very difficult economy.  This formula has been successful for us at the Queen Anne’s Revenge on Daniel Island since 2001, but unfortunately has not worked for us downtown,” says NDG Managing Partner David Howard.  “We are disappointed but at the same time are eager to explore all of our options and look forward to announcing an exciting new concept in early 2011.

The Neighborhood Dining Group will migrate as many staff as possible from the Buccaneer to the other restaurant operations in the company.
