The Charleston Metro Chamber welcomes Chelsea Diedrich to their Talent Team

April 27, 2023

The Charleston Metro Chamber announced Chelsea Diedrich has joined the Chamber team as Talent Program Director. In this role, she will contribute to the planning and management of the Lowcountry Careers Collaborative funded by the EDA’ s Good Jobs Challenge grant, along with supporting the overall success of the Talent team and the Charleston Metro Chamber.

“We are thrilled to have Chelsea join our growing Talent team,” said Celeste Granger, Associate Vice President of Talent with the Charleston Metro Chamber. “Her passion for the work, along with her experience, will continue to elevate our efforts and ensure that the management of the Lowcountry Careers Collaborative is done efficiently and effectively.”

Prior to working for the Charleston Metro Chamber, she worked as a Program Manager for Charleston County Community Development. In this role, she was responsible for managing planning and evaluation elements for the County’s Urban Entitlement program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Urban Entitlement program offers three funding streams that are sub-awarded to local non-profit organizations and municipalities that use the money to create affordable housing and/or offer community programs. She was also able to submit a grant proposal to the MacArthur Foundation that was selected as one of four in the country to participate in the Just Home Project. This gave her the opportunity to lead the planning efforts for this grant, placing major emphasis on community engagement. The finalized plan approved by Council will guide the County in creating a program that provides transitional housing paired with wraparound services for individuals bouncing back and forth between homelessness and incarceration.

Chelsea is originally from Annapolis, Maryland and earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from UNC Wilmington and her Masters of Public Administration from the College of Charleston. She enjoys the vibrant culinary scene that Charleston offers and is proud to call our region home. She currently lives downtown with her partner, George.
