The City of Cayce announces annual Christmas in Cayce festivities

The City of Cayce announced their 2019 Christmas in Cayce festivities! Beginning on Thursday, December 5th and continuing through the end of the year, visitors can ride or stroll through the Cayce City Hall grounds and enjoy the magic of thousands of twinkling lights and Christmas music. Christmas in Cayce is sponsored by several local corporate partners, so all events are free!

November 29 – December 14:

Cayce Arts Guild Holiday Market

The Cayce Arts Guild is hosting their second holiday market from November 29 through December 14, at 1803 State Street. The market features a selection of items to purchase such as paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, cards, fiber, and other fine art items produced by local Cayce Art Guild members. This is the perfect opportunity for the community to see and purchase the amazing works of its talented local artists. For hours, visit the Cayce Arts Guild website at cayceartsguild.org.

December 5:

42nd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Broadcast live on WLTX and sponsored by The Woman’s Club of Cayce, this annual tradition includes greetings from city officials, musical performances from local schools, and a visit from Santa Claus. Proceeds from the sale of lights in honor or memory of a loved one, will be donated to God’s Helping Hands to assist families who are in need. The Woman’s Club of Cayce is also sponsoring the 17th annual “Cayce Cares” food drive to assist God’s Helping Hands and asks that you bring canned goods and non-perishable food items. This family-friendly, free event will include a community reception with free cookies and hot cocoa. The tree will be lit at 6:00 pm, so come early!

December 6:

Carols Along the Riverwalk

Beginning at the N Avenue Entrance (201 N Avenue at the intersection of Axtell and N Avenue) of the Cayce Riverwalk, the sounds of the holidays will delight during this reverse caroling event, where several local church choirs and musicians will be located throughout the first half mile of the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk will also glow with luminaries, and refreshments will be served free of charge. Parking will be made available at Brookland Cayce High School with free Trolley rides provided to and from the entrance of the Riverwalk.

December 7:

Cayce Historical Museum’s Annual Christmas Traditions Open House

The Cayce Historical Museum will welcome visitors to celebrate Christmas from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. This free holiday open house will feature beautifully decorated trees and other Christmas decorations in every room and docents dressed in period attire. As always, there will be delicious homemade refreshments and live entertainment. As darkness falls, scenes from American military conflicts come to life with the always popular lantern tours. History and comedy make this event a memorable evening for the entire family!

December 14:

Holiday Parade of Lights

Beginning at 6:00 pm, this Annual event is one of the most anticipated holiday parades in the Midlands! This beloved night time parade, hosted by the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, begins in front of the Cayce Municipal Complex located at 1800 12th Street. It then will proceed down 12th Street, ending at the corner of Highway 1  and 12th Street in West Columbia. Crowds of over 20,000 have been estimated, so come grab a viewing spot early!
