The Free Medical Clinic (TFMC), a leading nonprofit organization in the Midlands dedicated to providing quality healthcare to uninsured residents, proudly announces the appointment of six distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors.

New Board Members include Crystal Stafford (VA Medical System), Sheryl Mitchell (USC College of Nursing), Charles Vernon (ArborOne Farm Credit), Marc McQueen (Abacus Planning Group), Divya Ahuja, MD (Prisma Health), and Chandler Martin (Maynard Nexsen).

“I am honored to join The Free Medical Clinic and contribute to its vital mission. Through strategic planning, community outreach, and collaborative efforts, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most, ensuring that individuals in our community have access to quality healthcare services.” said new member, Sheryl Mitchell.

The Free Medical Clinic has been a beacon of hope for the uninsured, providing vital primary and specialty healthcare services since 1984. The addition of these esteemed individuals to the Board exemplifies TFMC’s unwavering commitment to enhancing community health outcomes and addressing healthcare disparities.

“Since my initial introduction to the Clinic through Leadership Columbia Class of 2012, my passion for the mission has kept me connected to this organization. That encounter inspired me to share my treasure, talent, and time advancing our purpose of delivering healthcare to uninsured community residents. As we will soon celebrate a historic 40 years of operations and enhance our physical infrastructure, this year is an exciting time to lead this board. We have ambitious goals, and I am delighted to welcome our six new board members, each with remarkable qualifications to our team.” Said incoming board chair, Vida Jennings, Director of Employee Relations/Diversity and Inclusion with BCBS South Carolina.

TFMC is gearing up to celebrate their 40th anniversary this year and will host several events across the community. The newly appointed Board members will play a pivotal role in guiding these initiatives to fruition.
