The Grainger Foundation Supports Tri-County Technical College, Welding Department

GREENVILLE, SC – The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation, donated $5,000 to Tri-County Technical College in support of the expansion of the cutting lab in its Welding department.
“This grant will be used to purchase additional equipment for the cutting lab, enabling us to serve more students,” said Paul Phelps, Welding program coordinator at Tri-County. “We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”
Phelps said the program currently serves more than 250 students annually in efforts to train welding craftsmen for local industry.
This donation was recommended by Paul Ellis, branch manager of W.W. Grainger, Inc.’s, Greenville, SC, location. Grainger is a part of the Greenville business community as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products. “We are proud to recommend the programs offered by Tri-County Technical College,” said Ellis. “We understand the need for equipment in support of the efforts of the Welding department as they expand their cutting labs to meet demands of the many students they train.”
