The Junior League of Columbia is ‘Cranked Up’ for the 6th Annual Touch a Truck

April 3, 2015

COLUMBIA, SC – The 6th Annual Touch A Truck will be Sat., April 11 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at the South Carolina State Farmer’s Market. The SC State Farmer’s Market will take kids and adults into an amazing world of heavy machinery and big rigs.

Kids and adults will be able to touch, climb on, take pictures with and explore fire trucks, crime fighting vehicles, bulldozers, antique military vehicles, farm/agricultural machinery, mine resistant tanks and more.

“This year, we are on track to have an even bigger event than last year,” said Brook Cohn, Acquisitions Chair for Touch A Truck. “We’ll have a greater variety of vehicle than ever before including a school bus, boat, tow truck, army vehicles and a smattering of large construction vehicles.”

Back this year is the special NASCAR exhibit sponsored by Pitts Nationwide Insurance Team of Columbia where speed skills will be put to the test in a racecar simulator and attendees will get an up-close look at the Nationwide Series stock car.

Kids also will get to meet the men and women who build, protect and serve the Midlands. To add to the fun, there will be train rides, a petting zoo, magician, bounce houses and face painting, plus healthy eating activities from the Junior League’s Kids in the Kitchen.

Admission is $6 per person or a family four-pack for $20. Children under two are free with each paying adult. Tickets available for purchase day of event.
