The LRADAC Foundation receives funding for prevention and treatment services from the Lexington Medical Center Foundation

October 30, 2023

The LRADAC Foundation, LRADAC’s nonprofit arm that supports the programs and services of LRADAC, has received a Community Outreach Grant of $85,000 from Lexington Medical Center. $20,000 of the grant is earmarked for LRADAC’s MOMS (Maternal Outreach Management Services) program, which facilitates treatment and recovery services for expectant mothers to achieve healthy outcomes for mothers and babies. In FY23, results included 14 babies being born, with one hundred percent of participating moms and babies being substance-free at birth and one hundred percent remaining with the family post-birth.

In addition to helping fund the MOMs program, the Lexington Medical Center award will help support a full-time Clinical Counselor, well versed in substance misuse treatment who will work in conjunction with the hospital’s Social Services and Psychiatry departments to assess, refer, and connect patients with substance misuse to the treatment and recovery services they need. In addition, this LRADAC staff member will work with Uplift Lexington’s Community Team to connect individuals to the services they need, reducing the overall utilization of emergency resources in our community.

“The outcomes of our MOMs program would not be possible without the continued support of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation,” said Tifani Moore, Development Director for the LRADAC Foundation. “With the additional funding to help connect patients with appropriate recovery services, Lexington Medical Center and its Foundation continually prove their support and dedication to the mental and physical wellness of Midlands’ residents and working as a true agent of change in the lives of so many people.”
