The MICHELIN Guide sets date for the inaugural American South ceremony

June 10, 2025

The MICHELIN Guide has set a date and location for the reveal of the inaugural selection of the MICHELIN Guide American South. South Carolina has been chosen as the host territory for the ceremony which will be held on the evening of Nov. 3 in Greenville, S.C. at the Peace Center.

The ceremony marks a meaningful moment for South Carolina—and for Greenville, which has proudly served as Michelin North America’s headquarters for more than 50 years. While the MICHELIN Guide itself has global roots, this event celebrates the deep connection between Michelin and the region it helped transform. “

This is more than a culinary celebration—it’s a proud moment for a community that has long shared a meaningful connection with Michelin,” said Heath Dillard, President & CEO of VisitGreenvilleSC. “Greenville’s food scene reflects that same commitment to excellence—rooted in hospitality, fueled by creativity, and shaped by a global perspective. We’re honored to welcome the MICHELIN Guide ceremony to a destination that truly values culinary craftsmanship.”

Greenville’s culinary evolution has been fueled by its growing cultural diversity and world-class talent. The city now boasts more than 200 restaurants in its vibrant downtown and over 1,000 throughout the county, ranging from farm-to-table standouts to globally inspired kitchens. Food halls, craft breweries, and nationally recognized festivals like euphoria and Fall for Greenville continue to draw food lovers from across the country.

Michelin North America, Inc. operates 15 production facilities across South Carolina, driving more than $8 billion in annual economic impact in the state. Beyond tires, Michelin is building a worldleading manufacturer of life-changing composites and experiences — advancing mobility, sustainability, and economic development throughout the Upstate and beyond.

Event details related to the 2025 MICHELIN Guide Ceremony will be announced in the months ahead. Chefs will be invited to discover whether their restaurants have received a MICHELIN Star or another MICHELIN Guide distinction. Attendance is by invitation only.
