The Palmetto Bank Receives Chairman’s Award from United Way of Greenville County

GREENVILLE, SC – The Palmetto Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Palmetto Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLMT), and its teammates have been recognized by the United Way of Greenville County with another Chairman’s Award for the outstanding success of the 2014 campaign. The Bank and its teammates in Greenville County pledged over $52,000 to the United Way of Greenville County.

Erwin, Chairman and CEO of The Palmetto Bank as well as Vice-Chair of the United Way’s 2014 Palmetto Society Board, said, “The Palmetto Bank has a rich tradition of giving back to the communities we serve in the Upstate of South Carolina. We are strong supporters of the great work being done at the United Way. I am extremely proud of the generosity our teammates continue to show through their support of the United Way of Greenville County.”

Our teammates are more engaged in the agencies the United Way supports. Participating in agency visits has been a key component of running a successful campaign.”

This is the third consecutive year The Palmetto Bank received a Chairman’s Award. Eighty-two teammates in Greenville County participated in this year’s campaign with over $43,000 of the pledges qualifying for the Palmetto Society.
