The Pasture Steakhouse Restaurant – Coming to Clinton in January

December 19, 2022

Opening a restaurant is not for everyone. Knowledge of the food service industry, supply chain issues, and customer service can be daunting for someone new to the industry.

The Pasture Steakhouse will open in Clinton in mid-January under leadership of owner Marcus Cheeks. Cheeks has been in the food service industry for more than 25 years.  He was the general manager at Fatz Café of Clinton for many years and since 2017 he has been dishing up great food when Marcus and his wife, Fran, started Two-5 BBQ and Catering.

The Buzz reached out to Marcus and Fran Cheeks to learn more about the new restaurant and what patrons can expect.

Why a steakhouse and why now?

“We’ve decided to open a steakhouse restaurant for our community because there is a great demand for one,” said Marcus Cheeks. “Steak is a favorite for our family and after creating our own blend of seasonings, we felt led to meet that need for a steakhouse restaurant in Clinton.”

Their vision for The Pasture is to become a place of unity. The Pasture will provide top quality food at affordable prices to meet the needs of the community. Whether it’s a special occasion, a quick meal before Wednesday night church or a to-go order to be taken to a friend under the weather, they want to be there for everyone in the community.

The restaurant will be family oriented. It will be the place to enjoy a great meal and a good laugh with friends or family. “It will be the place where everyone is a regular and the staff knows the guests by name,” said Marcus Cheeks.

What about the menu and price range?

This is where industry experience comes in. Leaning on his experience mentoring restauranteurs and helping them make their business more efficient, Cheeks has created a streamlined approach to the overall operations of the restaurant.

“Being efficient and having well trained staff will allow us to make our meals affordable, yet still serve our guests top quality product,” said Cheeks.

The menu will include a selection of steaks, poultry, seafood, salads, pasta and a variety of vegetables. The lunch menu items will range from $8 to $12 and dinner menu items from $9 to $45. The certified Hereford beef steaks range from a 6 oz sirloin meal at $16 to a 14oz T-bone for $38. The menu will also include a good variety of gluten free options including grilled meats and other proteins, salads, and veggies.

When will The Pasture open?

The anticipated opening date is January 11, 2023, and their hours of operation will be:

·      Wednesday-Friday 11am -3pm and 5-9pm
·      Saturday 12-9pm
