The Picklr opens at North Hills Shopping Center

Greenville’s Eastside Welcomes the Nation’s Largest Indoor Pickleball Franchise

Aston is pleased to share that The Picklr is now open at its Greenville location at North Hills Shopping Center.

The 25,701-square-foot facility features eight courts with outdoor surfacing and offers a full suite of amenities including AI coaching technology, a pro shop, locker rooms and showers, private event areas, and programming for league play, tournaments, drop-in play, and court reservations. The Picklr is the world’s fastest-growing network of premium indoor pickleball courts, providing players of all skill levels with a dedicated space to learn, compete, and connect through the fastest-growing sport in America.

The Picklr was founded in 2021 by Jorge Barragan and Austin Wood, born out of a simple frustration: packed rec centers, too few courts, and a sport that was clearly outgrowing the spaces available to play it. Barragan, who first discovered pickleball in 2016, was struck by the game’s ability to unite players of all ages and skill levels. After being laid off from his tech job during the pandemic, he decided to bet on himself and build the dedicated indoor facility he wished had existed. The two friends signed their first lease in January 2021 and opened their debut location in Uintah shortly after.

The concept grew rapidly. Today, The Picklr has partnered with Pickleball Inc. and Super Bowl Champion Drew Brees and has over 500 locations worldwide, making it the nation’s largest indoor pickleball club franchise. The Greenville location brings that community-first vision to the Upstate, offering a professional-grade facility where players of all ages and abilities can learn, compete, and connect.

The Picklr joins a diverse and growing mix of tenants at North Hills Shopping Center, including Sprouts Farmers Market, Architech Sports & Physical Therapy, X-Zen Sports, Oscar Nail Spa, El Molcajete Mexican Restaurant, Starbucks and more. The center has continued to revitalize following Aston’s recent multimillion-dollar renovation that includes new patios, landscaping, and parking improvements, cementing North Hills Shopping Center as a key destination of Greenville’s Eastside.
