The Rusty Rudder Oktoberfest taking donations for SC flood victims this Saturday

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC – In wake of the recent and ongoing South Carolina storm devastation and deadly flooding, TheRusty Rudder Mount Pleasant, located at 3562 N. Hwy 17, is spreading the sunshine this Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at their Oktoberfest celebration by encouraging all guests to bring a donation for flood victims. For each donation received, patrons (over the age of 21) will get one Oktoberfest drink ticket or can request a $5.00 donation to be made from The Rusty Rudder Mount Pleasant to one of the many flood relief organizations helping to rebuild S.C. The event is free to the public and festivities begin at 1:00 p.m.
The Rusty Rudder Oktoberfest guests can bring tangible items, gift cards or monetary donations to aid in the relief efforts for flood victims in the Lowcountry and throughout the state of S.C. to help with numerous causes including but not limited to The Lowcountry SC Chapter of the American Red Cross , a destroyed animal shelter, and individual families.
The Rusty Rudder Mount Pleasant will deliver all donations to official Lowcountry drop off sites following the event. Suggested items include, but are not limited to: bottled water, non-perishable goods, toiletries, clothing, towels, sheets, diapers, wipes, Clorox and cleaning supplies.
“Both of our locations in the Carolinas were extremely lucky to have avoided any damage, but we know there are many families, and businesses, that were not so lucky right in our backyard. This is just one small way we can help our community and our state get back on their feet,” said Brian Johnston, Rusty Rudder Co-Owner.
The Rusty Rudder Mount Pleasant Oktoberfest celebration will include a variety of activities to lift everyone’s spirit including seasonal Oktoberfest beers on draft, a German inspired menu, live music on the patio, authentic German boots for purchase, a German themed costume contest and more.
