The Salvation Army bell ringers help to proclaim HOPE raising over $257,000

The Salvation Army of the Midlands would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Midlands community for volunteering to ring the bell and generously giving at the red kettles this past Christmas season!
From its humble origin as a fundraiser, since 1891, The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign collects funds to help people. “It is more than simply ringing a bell, it is proclaiming HOPE. Every dollar collected fuels critical services for individuals and families in need right here in the Midlands,” said Major Mark Craddock, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of the Midlands.
The 2022 Red Kettle Campaign raised a grand total of over $257,000. The virtual red kettle online donations raised over $30,000 contributing to the grand total. A virtual red kettle donation could be made on The Salvation Army of the Midlands website: SalvationArmyMidlands.org
Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) broke the record this year for most money raised by an organization on a single day at one location. The amount raised by RCSD on December 8, 2022 was $2,349. “The Salvation Army of the Midlands is grateful to the RCSD and everyone who supported the Red Kettle Campaign,” said Craddock.
The five counties served by The Salvation Army of the Midlands, include Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, Newberry, and Fairfield Counties.
