The State Treasurer’s Office recognized for communications excellence at Palmetto Awards ceremony

The State Treasurer’s Office was recently recognized for communications excellence at the International Association of Business Communicators S.C. Chapter 2023 Palmetto Awards ceremony for two of its recent communications campaigns.
“Congratulations to our Communications Division for their continued creativity and efforts to promote the important consumer programs we administer for the benefit of so many South Carolinians,” State Treasurer Curtis Loftis said. “We employ a variety of strategies to inform citizens about the savings programs we offer to support financial well-being, and it’s gratifying to see our team be recognized by their peers for their hard work.”
The State Treasurer’s Office was awarded a Palmetto Award of Excellence in the Public Sector/Governmental Communication category for its Palmetto ABLE Savings Program Fifth Anniversary Celebration. The multi-channel campaign leveraged the program’s anniversary and continued growth – both in terms of account owners and assets under management – to recognize and thank its disability partner organizations while also continuing to increase general awareness about Palmetto ABLE®’s many benefits for citizens within the disability community.
The Office also received a Palmetto Award of Merit in the category of Employee Engagement for its “From Our Future Scholars to Yours” testimonial video campaign. This video series featured several of the agency’s employees sharing their own personal stories of saving for their loved ones’ education with Future Scholar.
The Communications Division is led by Karen Ingram and includes Communications Specialists Kelly Holcombe and Kristin Buchman.
