The TWLUM Teen Project to honor local veterans at November 7 celebration
October 5, 2026The TWLUM Teen Project is proud to announce its upcoming event, “Celebrating Our Veterans,” scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Battery Park Gymnasium (1467 Battery Park Road, Nesmith, SC 29580).
This community gathering is dedicated to honoring local service members, recognizing their military contributions, and bringing the community together in gratitude for their sacrifices.
LCVG Commander Franklin Rutledge
The event will feature keynote speaker Commander Franklin E. Rutledge, Executive Director of the Low Country Veterans Group. Commander Rutledge leads an organization committed to supporting veterans and strengthening the military community through their core mission, “Veterans Helping Veterans. Changing Lives.”
Joining him as a keynote speaker is Regina Scott, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant (MSgt) and retired federal government civilian employee. Scott brings a wealth of military and federal experience, leadership, and dedication to the community.
“We are deeply honored to welcome both Commander Rutledge and Regina Scott as our distinguished keynote speakers,” said Tyron Wilson, founder and executive director of The TWLUM Teen Project. “This event is an important opportunity for our youth and community members to hear from leaders dedicated to service, to celebrate our veterans, and to strengthen the ties within our local area.”

Admission is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required. The event is supported by local community partners, including Humana, serving as an event sponsor.
