The Wait is Over – Rootimentary Now Open to the Public

December 5, 2022

Good things come to those who wait. It’s been a long wait since the announcement of an upscale restaurant coming to Laurens and by all accounts it was well worth the wait.

Rootimentary, located on the Square in Laurens, held a soft opening last Friday and Saturday and announced that they were open for reservations beginning Tuesday, December 6.

We “buzzed” in Friday night to experience firsthand what they have to offer. True to their vision, owners Caleb and Jessica Satterfield have created a restaurant with the ambiance and menu you would expect in Greenville, but without the drive. Dining within the first two hours of opening the restaurant you would expect glitches and issues but if there were any, there were not noticed by customers.  The dining room was humming with conversations and nice background music. Many of the tables have a line of sight to the elegant bar and the open kitchen where Chef Caleb and staff were busy creating dishes that as served looked like art and tasted even better.

If you enjoy a cocktail or a nice glass of wine with your meal you won’t be disappointed. Rootimentary has an in-house mixologist. “It’s amazing to have her here because you can’t find craft cocktails like these anywhere in Laurens County,” said Jessica Satterfield. “We have several bottles of spirits and can make any standard drink you desire, but Cooper’s craft cocktails are what truly shine.” Cooper also makes incredible mocktails that are very tasty. Rootimentary also has a selection of wine that can be ordered by the bottle or the glass.

During our dining experience the staff were all smiles and handled our barrage of questions with professionalism and grace. Nancy was our waitress and she was awesome.

“This day has been a long time coming and we are so grateful for the support of the Laurens County community,” said Satterfield.  “We look forward to serving some of the finest food and creating wonderful meal experiences right here in Laurens County.”
