The Woodlands at Furman launches in-home companion care service

July 14, 2015

GREENVILLE, SC – As seniors are faced with increasing options for care of themselves and their loved ones, the Woodlands at Furman is launching a new in-home companion care service that offers quality care combined with the comforts of home.

The in-home model of care is ideal for seniors who need limited assistance, but want to maintain their independent lifestyle, one of the core principles of the Woodlands at Furman, said Kevin Parker, Executive Director of The Woodlands at Furman. Companion care services will include assistance with light housekeeping, grocery shopping, pet care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and bathing and dressing.

“Companion Care is a natural extension of our work at the Woodlands at Furman,” Parker said. “This in-home service is an opportunity to provide exceptional personal care to someone who may need it in a different way than what we currently offer on our campus.”

Services will be provided within a 10 mile radius of the Woodlands campus, located at 1500 Trailhead Court in Greenville. Services will be available 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a week, but must be provided for a minimum of two consecutive hours. For more information and to inquire about pricing, call Lashinda Switzer, Companion Care Manager, at (864)640-3692.
