GREENVILLE, SC – April 17, 2013  –  Leading Age South Carolina honored The Woodlands at Furman with two awards Wednesday  for its service to Upstate seniors.

The Woodlands at Furman also was honored with the 2013 Leading Age South Carolina Community Service Award for the senior race series it sponsors in cooperation with The Greenville Track Club.  The Woodlands at Furman Challenge was started in 2011 because of the community’s commitment to healthy senior living in the Upstate.  In 2011, more than 156 individual seniors participated in Challenge races.  In 2012, that number increased to more than 191.
