Thomas Simpson Joins Nelson Mullins in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC – October 19, 2010 – Thomas A. Simpson joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as an associate in its Greenville office. Mr. Simpson focuses his practice on financial services, securities, and general business law.

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Mr. Simpson was associate general counsel for a publicly traded insurance and annuity company, where he provided legal counsel on a range of issues involving life insurance, annuities, investments, intellectual property, and reinsurance. He also worked as a financial services associate for a prominent Midwest law firm.

In 2006, Mr. Simpson earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where he received the Order of Coif and the Dean Leigh Harrison and Hugo Black Scholar Awards for Academic Achievement. He was the managing editor of the Alabama Law Review

Following law school, Mr. Simpson served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ed Carnes on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. 

In 2003, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University.
