Three from Sea Island, Georgia join the RBC Heritage field

April 2, 2018

Brian Harman, Chris Kirk and Hudson Swafford are joining fellow Sea Island residents and past champions Matt Kuchar and Davis Love III at the 50th annual RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.  South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR event is being held April 9-15 over the famed Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

They will join a field that already includes defending champion Wesley Bryan and Team RBC Ambassador and number one ranked player in the world Dustin Johnson. Past champions Aaron Baddeley, Stewart Cink, Glen Day, RBC Ambassador Jim Furyk, RBC Ambassador Graeme McDowell, Carl Pettersson and Brandt Snedeker are also vying for a chance to win another Tartan jacket.

Harman caught the golf world’s attention in 2012 during the second round of The Honda Classic when he shattered the course record with a 61.  The Savannah, Georgia native finished the tournament tied for 12th.  He received Heritage exemptions in 2004 and again in 2006 after winning the 2005 Players Amateur.  The University of Georgia graduate earned his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2014 John Deere Classic and won again at last season’s Wells Fargo Championship.  He is making his ninth start at the RBC Heritage.

Kirk grew up in Atlanta, GA and has earned four PGA TOUR victories. The University of Georgia graduate has carded two top ten finishes this season and will be competing at Harbour Town for the eighth consecutive year.

Swafford grew up in Tallahassee, Florida and is a University of Georgia graduate. In 2017, he collected four top-10 finishes through the Wyndham Championship, highlighted by his first career PGA TOUR win at the CareerBuilder Challenge. He will be competing in his third RBC Heritage.
