About the South Carolina Railroad Museum

The South Carolina Railroad Museum (SCRM) has been a staple to South Carolina’s Fairfield County since 1983. The organization’s mission is simple: the preservation and interpretation of railroading in South Carolina. Made up entirely of a volunteer staff, SCRM maintains and operates numerous trains (Diner cars, open air cars, transfer caboose, circus dormitory cars, etc.) on a ten-mile stretch of railroad, The Rockton, Rion & Western Railroad. SCRM also features a self-guided tour through historic trains and display rooms with hundreds of original train artifacts for visitors to explore. SCRM offers numerous seasonal events and is available for private charters. For more information and tickets, visit www.SCRM.org.
