Tidelands Health to host pregnancy and infant loss remembrance ceremony
October 9, 2026Tidelands Health will host a remembrance ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 15, to honor babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, and other forms of infant loss, while offering support to families who continue to carry their memory.
The ceremony will begin at 6:45 p.m. outside Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, located at 4070 Highway 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet.
During the ceremony, candles will be lit in honor of babies whose lives ended too soon, creating a shared moment of love and support for those affected by loss.
“Pregnancy and infant loss can leave a lasting impact on families,” said Kate Russell, perinatal loss coordinator and lactation consultant at Tidelands Health. “This ceremony provides an opportunity for our community to come together, remember these precious lives, and let grieving families know they are not alone.”
The event is open to anyone who has experienced the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, regardless of how much time has passed since their loss. Loved ones, caregivers, and members of the community are also encouraged to attend.
The remembrance ceremony is part of Tidelands Health’s commitment to providing compassionate care and support for patients and families in the community.
Light refreshments will follow the ceremony. RSVP at 843-652-1948.
