Tim Geyer promoted to Vice President of Finance at Spirit Telecom.
March 17, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – March 17, 2009 – Tim Geyer has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Finance for Spirit Telecom.
Tim has worked for Spirit Telecom since July 2006 and was previously the company’s director of accounting. In addition to overseeing the operations of the finance department, Tim is responsible for overseeing the budget and annual external audit, updating the monthly projections, participating in the company’s strategic planning sessions, and presenting the monthly financial statements to the company’s board of directors.
“Since last June, Tim has taken on these VP responsibilities and has proven to be a tremendous asset to the company,” Vernon Williams, president and CEO of Spirit said.
“He has demonstrated keen insight, and those of us who have worked with him know that he is up to the challenge,” he said.
Before joining Spirit, Tim was a senior audit manager with the CPA firm Bauknight Pietras and Stormer, P.A. for nine years. While there, he specialized in accounting and audit services for telecommunications and technology companies ranging in size from start-up to Fortune 100 companies.
Tim has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting and a master’s degree in accountancy from University of South Carolina, and he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
