Topside Poolclub marks next step downtown

Located on the top floor of a seven story building and with stunning views Falls Park, Topside Pool Club will be opening Memorial Day weekend.
Aventure of High Spirits Hospitality, this membership only club will be the first of its kind in Greenville – a rooftop pool club directly on Main Street. It will be located on the top floor of Falls Park Place, which was just named one of the five most transformative development projects in the Southeast.
“Greenville’s entertainment and hospitality is becoming more upscale,” said Tammy Johnson, CEO of High Spirits Hospitality. “Topside is the next evolution in that cycle.”
It is a private club where members will have access to full bar service, private members-only events and the pool, she said. Topside Pool Club will begin accepting membership applications on May 1. That information can be found at www.topsidepoolclub.com.
Topside joins Johnson’s other well-known Greenville ventures including The Old Cigar Warehouse and Liquid Catering. The same dedication and service that have made them awarding and well-respected companies will be going into Topside.
“We have been examining ways to branch out and have been looking for more social spots for quite some time,” she said. “Topside Pool Club will be a distinct location that offer spectacular views of Falls Park that are unmatched anywhere else.”
The name is nautical in nature and refers to the upper part of a ship’s side, above the waterline. Johnson said its location on the top floor and its pool helped her hone in on the Topside name.
Topside is hiring. The club will be hosting a job fair for staff at The Old Cigar Warehouse, 912 S. Main Street, on Monday, May 1, and Tuesday May 2 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Candidates need to bring a hard copy of their resume and fill out an application online prior to the job fair.
“Greenville’s downtown is a 24-7 atmosphere that is known for being a hot spot, but we wanted to create a place to relax and enjoy it,” Johnson said. “Topside Pool Club provides the one place to lounge, swim and socialize downtown right over our award-winning Main Street.”
