Touch-A-Truck returns to Soda City on May 17

The City of Columbia’s third annual Touch-A-Truck event is set to take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the 1700 block of Main Street during the weekly Soda City Market.

Hosted by the City’s Public Works Department in partnership with other city departments, the event gives families a chance to get a close look at the vehicles and equipment used to keep Columbia running. Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to explore machines such as a backhoe, mini-excavator, bomb-disposal robot, and more.

City staff from departments including Police, Fire, Parks & Recreation, Solid Waste, and Fleet Services will be on hand to explain how the equipment works and what it’s used for. The event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend.
