Touchdown Club Names Bryson James of Clinton High as Player of the Week

The Laurens County Touchdown Club is proud to announce that for week two, September 2, the Player of the week is Clinton High School Senior running back and
linebacker Bryson James.  James is a senior offensive running back, linebacker and special teams player for the  Clinton High School Red Devils and was a picture of determination as Clinton High defeated Newberry High 34 – 20 Friday night.  Bryson James had three touchdowns for the night, two TDs via  runs of 3 and 19 yards, and an 85-yard kickoff return for the Red Devils. James finished the night with 72 yards on 11 carries, and the two rushing TDs, in addition to the 85 yard kickoff return.  Defensively James had 7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack and a blocked PAT on special teams for the CHS captain as Clinton High now goes to 3 – 0.

The Laurens County Touchdown Club will honor Bryson on September 8th at the second Touchdown Club meeting of the year. The meeting will be at noon at The Ridge in Laurens. Player of the Week awards this year will presented by Farm Bureau Insurance of Laurens County. The September 8th meeting will feature the new Presbyterian College Head Football Coach Steve Englehart before the Blue Hose play their home opener on September 10,  versus Virginia University of Lynchburg.

The Laurens County Touchdown Club meets every other Thursday throughout the football season at The Ridge located in Laurens at 301 Exchange Road and the public is invited. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15. All meetings are at Noon.
