Town of Lexington presented 8th Annual Historic Preservation Awards

The Town of Lexington hosted the 8th Annual Historic Preservation awards on Thursday, November 10 at the Palmetto Collegiate Institute.

This year’s recipients are: 

Coogler-Meetze House – 207 West Main Street c. 1790 

i3 Resources –  101 West Main Street c.1913   

Jewitte Dooley Law – 315 North Lake Drive c.1920

The Awards are administered by the Town’s Historic Preservation Review Board, which was founded in 1999 and created the awards program to recognize historic residential and commercial buildings that have been restored and strengthen the economy of the Town.

Criteria of the Program includes:  the building must be listed on the Town’s Historic Inventory list, must be adaptively reused if it is a former residence turned commercial and if so, it must be restored to period and in keeping with the original integrity.
