Town of Lexington Unveils Next Phase of Vision Plan

LEXINGTON, SC – The Town of Lexington announces the newest phase of the Vision Plan, a “roadmap” for development in the Town of Lexington over the next 20 years by prioritizing and leveraging public resources that will attract private sector investment.

The Town will focus efforts on Traffic and Tourism including:

Downtown Improvements

  • The primary focus of the project is to improve traffic flow through the downtown Lexington area.

Crossroad Improvements @ Lake Dr. & Sunset Blvd.

  • The focus of the project is to improve safety and operation of an intersection that serves over 40,000 vehicles per day.

Corley Mill @Sunset Blvd. Gateway Improvements

  • The focus of the project is to improve current traffic flow through the Corley Mill Road and US 378 intersection which serves as the primary Gateway to the Town.

 

The projects will be funded through the implementation of Hospitality Tax. Town Council will host the following meetings regarding the funding mechanism:

The Vision Plan was adopted in May 2012 and has included projects such as Lexington Square Park, Farmers Market, Lexington Paw Park, Fourteen Mile Creek Trail, Commercial Façade Improvement Grant Program and the Adaptive Computerized Signalization System, currently being implemented.
