Town Theatre’s Million Dollar Quartet Takes the Stage

February 24, 2017

The Tony® Award Winning musical, Million Dollar Quartet, brings December 4, 1956 to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations. Four legends, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley gathered at the Sun Record recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee, where they’d launched their careers. Word soon leaked out of an impromptu jam session. A newspaper man who was there wrote, ‘This quartet could sell a million.’ Soon, they were dubbed the Million Dollar Quartet. This was their only performance, a cultural flash point that caught rock ‘n’ roll at the moment of creation.

Town Theatre is proud to showcase this fabulous quartet — Charlie Goodrich (Les Misérablés) in the role of Johnny Cash, Jeremy Reasoner (The Little Mermaid) as Jerry Lee Lewis, Alex Cowsert (White Christmas) as Carl Perkins and Matthew Harter (Into the Woods Jr.) portrays the King himself, Elvis Presley. Audiences will delight in hearing Sheldon Paschal (The Addams Family) as Elvis’ girlfriend, Dyanne. Providing additional fantastic musical support is Caleb Everson (A Christmas Carol) on guitar, and Town newcomers Mikey Lowrey on drums and Landon Osteen on bass. Chip Collins (Spamalot), in the role of Sam Phillips, takes us back to that magical moment in his Sun Record studio. “Goodness gracious! Great Balls of Fire,” you don’t want to miss this rock-n-roll show that will have you dancing in the aisles!
