Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (TDL) Council to Host 6th Annual TDL Summit Tuesday, March 22

Industry professionals to speak of trends, successes and issues from across South Carolina

 

COLUMBIA, SC – The 6th Annual South Carolina TDL Summit will be Tuesday, March 22 and is hosted by the Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics (TDL) Council and the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness. The annual event brings together public leaders and business professionals from around the state to review the latest TDL trends, celebrate industry successes and discuss the critical issues that need to be solved to move our state forward.

This year’s Summit will spotlight Uber and how it is changing transportation across South Carolina and the world; Boeing, Amazon and Rite Aid as key players in manufacturing and distribution; the railway industry in a panel of representatives from Norfolk Southern, CSX, Gulf and Ohio Railways, and Palmetto Railways; and public leaders Secretary Bobby Hitt, Secretary Christy Hall, Senator Larry Grooms and Jim Newsome of SCPA.

“The TDL Council is pleased to bring expert speakers from across the state and beyond to discuss critical issues and opportunities facing the TDL industry in South Carolina,” said TDL Council Chair and President of Alliance Consulting Engineers, Deepal Eliatamby.

About TDL Council
The TDL Council (transportation distribution logistics) is an industry cluster supported by the SC Council on Competitiveness. The TDL Council brings together public and private entities with the vision of making South Carolina’s TDL industry the most competitive in the country. Of the 30 governing members, three seats are reserved for the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the South Carolina Department of Transportation, and the South Carolina Ports Authority. The remaining 27 seats are reserved for private sector industry representatives from air, land, sea, and rail, including railroads, major airports, freight trucking, logistics and warehousing companies, industry customers and supply chain support companies.
