Tricounty Family Ministries will become Neighbors Together

We are excited to share historic news with you about the future of . During a special event on Monday, October 4, 2021, Tricounty Family Ministries changed its name to Neighbors Together.

“We changed our name to Neighbors Together to reflect the transformation we have seen when people come together to help each other,” said Neighbors Together Executive Director Rev. Kara Stewart. “As the pandemic has made abundantly clear, we all are neighbors together.”

The organization has brought dignity and hope to the Lowcountry since 1983. The nonprofit focuses on helping people with food, shelter, medical needs and job training. Powered by community volunteers, Neighbors Together has provided more than 7.5 million meals since the organization was founded and more than 55,000 articles of clothing.

North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey, Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Charleston County Council Chairman Teddie E. Pryor, Sr. were honored guests for this major milestone in the organization’s history.

“The name ‘Neighbors Together’ reflects our vision for a brighter future impacting the lives of those who need assistance,” Stewart said. “While we have a new name, we are the same caring neighbor.”
