Trident CEO Council invests in diverse candidates for Charleston Metro Chamber’s leadership programs

September 15, 2022

The Charleston Metro Chamber is proud to offer a variety of programs aimed at developing our region’s leaders at whatever stage of their career they are in. Trident CEO Council, a group of private sector business leaders representing more than 10,000 employees, has partnered with the Charleston Metro Chamber to create a scholarship fund to increase participation of underrepresented minorities in leadership development opportunities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Trident CEO Council to ensure that minorities are represented at leadership tables throughout our region,” said Adrian Cain, Senior Vice President of Community Advancement. “Equipping leaders with the tools and opportunities to live, learn and earn is critical to the success of our region and we deeply value partners like Trident CEO Council who see the need and are willing to work alongside us to create an intentional solution.”

Through this partnership, they will cultivate and develop leaders of color through Leadership Charleston, Leadership Discovery and promote economic growth through the Minority Business Accelerator. The Trident CEO Council recognizes that people of color are dramatically underrepresented throughout the CEO ranks and through this investment and intentional mentorship opportunities, they hope to set the stage for a more diverse business community and leadership structure.

“The Trident CEO Council is committed to growing diversity among the region’s executive leadership pool,” said Jennifer Blumenthal, a Partner with Burr Forman and member of the Trident CEO Council. “By funding scholarships in leadership training for diverse candidates today, the Trident CEO Council is investing in our future leaders for a more diverse and inclusive tomorrow.”

The Chamber and Trident CEO Council’s Advisory Committee will work together to ensure the scholarship participants in the Chamber’s leadership programs have what they need to be successful.
